Moses Chan Still Has Chance of Winning Best Actor Award

Although Moses Chan Ho was not included in TVB Anniversary's Top 5 Finalists for Best Actor (which is determined by audience's internet votes), he may still have a chance of winning the award. Audience votes only account for 30% of the final award results.

Moses may still be a hot contender for the award, as he was invited to appear on TVB executive, Stephen Chan's program, "Dinner with Stephen Chan" last night. Also Moses was spotted by reporters having dinner with another executive, Virginia Lok Yi Ling, at a hotel.

Stephen Chan and Virginia Lok announced the Top 5 Finalists for Best Actor and Actress last night at 7 PM at Miramar Hotel. At 8 PM, Moses, Yoyo Mung Ka Wai, Louisa So Yuk Wah, Kate Tsui etc. attended dinner afterwards with Ms. Lok.

Reporters asked Moses whether having dinner with TVB executives right before the anniversary will result in much gossip? Moses laughed, "It's only dinner. Stephen and Virginia organize dinner with artists once in awhile."

At a promotional event yesterday, Moses appeared in a Scottish kilt and encouraged more people to vote for him as Best Actor. However, Bowie Lam is still the hot favorite to win the award. "Yes Bowie has always been the big brother."

The Top 5 Finalists for Best Actor include Bowie Lam, Joe Ma, Damien Lau, Adam Cheng, and Kevin Cheng. According to internet betting sites, Joe Ma is the hot contender to win the Best Actor Award. Damien Lau and Bowie Lam follow, but due to Joe's negative rumors, this may impact his chance of winning the Best Actor Award. This will give Kevin Cheng a favorable advantage. Ever since Kevin's financial dispute with former music teacher, Dai Si Chung, broke out, TVB has protected and promoted Kevin. Since Kevin has demonstrated due diligence and successful onscreen chemistry with Niki Chow Lai Kei, this may give him a chance in winning the Best Actor Award.

However among the Top 5 Best Actors, Kevin's acting experience is the shortest. If TVB were to give the award to Kevin, it may not sit well among other artists. For example, Adam Cheng and
Damien Lau have stronger acting abilities and experience than Kevin. If based on acting talent, then the real competition should be between Adam and Damien. Perhaps one of them will win as a dark horse candidate, especially Damien, whose breakthrough performance in "Men in Pain" gave audience a refreshing impression. Perhaps Damien will defeat the younger artists and win the award like Liza Wang did at last year's anniversary.

Moses Chan still has a good chance to win the Best Actor Award. Like Kevin, Moses has a healthy image and has loyally filmed for TVB for many years. Moses even shaved his head to film "Land of Wealth" and often travels overseas for filming. His performance in "Dance of Passion" was quite good, therefore the race for Best Actor may change at any given moment.
