moses is Emperor Xuanzong (宣宗)... he was given the name Li Yi (李怡)... after becoming emperor he changed his name to Li Chen (李忱)...

this is what i got after reading some stuff:
Li Yi is the 13th son of Emperor Xianzong... his father died when he was 10 years old and his brother, Li Heng (played by eric), became emperor... Li Yi pretended to be dumb (slurring his words & crossing his eyes) so the eunuchs won't prosecute him or suspect him... after Li Heng died, his sons (Li Yi's nephews) succeeded the throne (there are 3 in total)... the last two would often make fun of Li Yi because they thought he was dumb... after Li Chan (played by edwin) dies the eunuch chose Li Yi to be the emperor because they thought they could easily control him [because he was dumb], but it turns out that Li Yi was pretending & planning all a long... once he succeeded the throne he changed his name to Li Chen and made many reforms...
